Florida Democrats raise $1.8 million

Some of the same interests that fueled the Republican Party of Florida's $7.5 million fund-raising haul helped state Democrats, just in much smaller numbers to the minority party among state lawmakers.

The Florida Democratic Party took in $1.8 million for the final three months of 2011. The big givers were Disney at $155,000,the Seminole Tribe at $105,000, and Genting with $103,000 -- interests involved in one of the top issues in front of lawmakers, gaming.

TECO Energy gave $92,500 among utility companies.
